Lets start with Bondi Kiss’s main ingredient; real actual organic papaya fruit (also known as Pawpaw). That’s right, no powered forms here. The Papaya fruit may look like an unassuming fruit, but it’s extremely nutrient-rich and  jam packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals including calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and vitamins A and C. This is why it is great to put on any irritations, infections or, of course, dried chapped lips. This hero ingredient also helps to lock in your skins moisture and is lightweight and non-greasy!

Coconut is one of the richest sources of saturated fat, which can have many positive effects on your body. Coconut can help break down harmful pathogens to prevent infections, and it’s great for your skin. Studies have shown that coconut can help improve the moisture and fat content of the skin while also protecting against the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays. The coconut oil is extracted from kernels of the seeds of the coconut palm.

Let us introduce organic Vitamin E. Vitamin E is the soother in the group. It’s distinct antioxidant properties will do the repairing of the damaged cells and nurture and heal them back to full strength. This natural Vitamin E Oil helps fight cell damage by neutralising free radicals and induces smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles (great for use around your eyes). In Bondi Kiss, it’s used to encourage skin healing and to reduce scarring.

Sun Protection Factor (SPF15+)

GiftSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSave

…and finally, Bondi Kiss’s super important addition; SPF15+. Why is this such an important addition to Lip Balm? well, a recent study revealed that 60 per cent of sunscreen users don’t apply sunscreen to their lips when they apply. The Skin Cancer Foundation reports that 81 per cent of lip cancers appear on the lower lip and that your risk of lip cancer escalates with cumulative exposure to the sun.  In fact, your lips are at risk of the two most common types of skin cancer: basal and squamous cell carcinoma. The 3 ingredients below work together to give your lips the protection they deserve:

Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate: A organic ingredient often found in sunscreen products. It’s used to absorb, reflect, and scatter UV rays and protects the skin from sunburn and other damaging effects of the sun.

Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane: Is used in many different sun protection products to absorb UV rays. It’s best known for its ability to absorb ultraviolet rays and to convert those rays into less damaging heat.

Octocrylene: An organic ingredient often found in sunscreens and cosmetics. It is a clear liquid that also helps to moisturise the skin while minimising damage from prolonged sun exposure.

Remember, sun damage builds over time, so it’s never too late to start good practices by using a lip balm with SPF to protect your skin. The key is to make sure you reapply often when you’re out and about for the best protection.

But, what about all the other ingredients? Don’t worry; we’re looking at all of the ingredients here.

Petrolatum
: Also known as petroleum jelly, is found in a wide variety of beauty products. It’s a soft paraffin or wax mixture that is the perfect moisturising agent. When properly refined, it has no known health concerns.

Sorbitan Olivate: This is 100% organic olive oil. It’s known for its highly moisturising effect as well as being hypoallergenic and its ability to biomimic the skin.

Beta-Carotene: Beta-carotene is an organic, coloured red-orange pigment. In our lip balm, it’s used as a natural colourant to leave your lips with a slight, temporary tint.
